A major vehicle manufacturer, that manufacturers in Europe and worldwide required the support of RGIS. The official spare parts are distributed in Spain through its joint venture company, which accounts for more than 40 agencies (points of sales) in the Spanish territory.
THE CHALLENGE
The customer required RGIS to provide the following:
- Stock level of all parts
- Reporting on all parts by location
- To count all parts from washers to larger items such as exhausts, windows and roofs
- Variance check against the stock the customer believed was held at each location
- 40 different locations to be counted and checked

The major vehicle manufacturer wanted to check the stock levels of parts held by distributors.
Our Solutions
The major vehicle manufacturer partnered with RGIS to complete the spare part by distributor project, and provided the following:
Scheduled teams of 10 experienced RGIS auditors per distributor
All counts took place during the evening and at night
Checked the variance of stock held at the location compared to what was on file for that distributor
Results
The major vehicle manufacturer found that by outsourcing the spare part by distributor project to RGIS, the following was achieved:
All locations were completed within the time frame given
Average of 20,000 parts were counted per distributor
99% accuracy was achieved
Conclusion
A custom variance report was generated which showed the customer both the number of parts in stock, and the location of the stock.
