Plastics Factory Wall-to-Wall Inventory
A plastic products manufacturing industry based in Lima, Peru required the support of RGIS. The manufacturer has been producing, marketing and distributing the widest line of plastic products for home, industry and commerce for more than 30 years.
REQUIREMENTS
The plastic products manufacturer needed a solution to complete a wall-to-wall inventory of the factory within a deadline, so required RGIS to provide the following:
- Accurately count all plastic items in the factory
- Work with the support of the customer’s employees
- Complete the count within the deadline set
SOLUTION
The plastic products manufacturer partnered with RGIS to complete the wall-to-wall factory count project, and RGIS provided the following:
- RGIS met with the customer prior to the count to coordinate and plan the project
- Scheduled a team of 60 experienced RGIS auditors over three days
- RGIS teams were supported by the customer’s employees on a 1:2 ratio
- Identified products with no barcodes
- Reported any variances
RESULTS
The plastic products manufacturer found by outsourcing wall-to-wall factory count project to RGIS, the following results were achieved:
- RGIS teams accurately counted over 18 million units and over 2,000 SKUs
- Recommendations were made which improved quality and saved time during the stock count
- The inventory was carried out within the deadlines established by the customer, and the operating and results expectations were also met
- The coordination and planning tasks with the customer significantly contributed to the success of the inventory
- The customer was very satisfied with service that RGIS provided, and have decided to conduct additional inventories in the factories in Chile
