RGIS COUNT-Athlon 2025: Celebrating Speed, Accuracy and Teamwork
The RGIS COUNT-Athlon is more than a friendly competition. It’s a high-energy skills challenge designed to celebrate what great looks like in our world: fast counting, consistent processes, and uncompromising accuracy. This year’s tournament built momentum across the United Kingdom and Ireland with five regional battles, bringing together 26 of our fastest, most accurate counters, before culminating in a nine-person Grand Final.
What does the RGIS COUNT-Athlon involve?
At its heart, the RGIS COUNT-Athlon is a practical test of the skills that matter on every stocktake. Competitors are challenged to perform under pressure while staying laser-focused on the fundamentals:
- Accuracy first – because every digit matters
- Speed with control – working at a pace without sacrificing quality
- Confidence with equipment – using the tools correctly and consistently
- Focus under pressure – staying calm from the first round to the final tally
It’s fast-paced, competitive, and great fun, but the purpose is serious: to reinforce the habits and standards that protect data quality and support customers, every single day.
Why do we run COUNT-Athlon?
The RGIS COUNT-Athlon supports our culture of continuous improvement by turning core skills into something visible, measurable and shareable.
It helps us to:
- Celebrate brilliant performance across the business
- Encourage consistent best practice through healthy competition
- Build confidence and capability with real-world skills under time pressure
- Bring teams together around shared standards and pride in performance
In short, it’s a great way to recognise the people who deliver quality, while keeping the spotlight on the process that makes RGIS trusted.
COUNT-Athlon 2025: from regionals to the Grand Final
The UK and Ireland COUNT-Athlon 2025 delivered a true tournament format, with competitors progressing through the regional stages and earning their place in the showdown after five intense qualifiers. Across the final, the standard was exceptionally high with competitors maintaining pace and precision from the opening round to the final results.
Grand Final Results
Huge congratulations go to everyone who reached the Grand Final, as well as to every competitor who took part in the regional rounds. Unfortunately, Ireland doesn’t make the podium this year, but we’re doing everything we can to secure an Irish win in 2026.
The top three finishers represented:
- Lewis Abraham – Norwich (1st)
- Jyothish Babu – Luton (2nd)
- Ashton Kreiger – Newcastle (3rd)
Thank you to everyone involved! The COUNT-Athlon doesn’t happen without the energy and commitment of the wider team, from organising and supporting, to creating an environment where colleagues can compete, learn and celebrate together. The result is a tournament that showcases the very best of RGIS: people, process and performance.
